Grapevine to Gig-Ready
Be clear about who you are, then ask everywhere - grapevine, stores, studios, open mics, and socials. The right fit often arrives through a bold ask.
You attract the right things when you have a sense of who you are'

Finding players is easier when you’re specific. Before you post or print a notice, decide your culture, influences, and direction. You’re not hiring the “best musician in the world”; you’re building the right band - musically and personally.
Stories like Muse and Foo Fighters remind us: people switch instruments, switch gigs, and say yes because someone asked clearly. Start talking about what you need; let your network work.
Where to look (and what to bring)
Your grapevine: ask friends of friends. References come baked-in.
Music stores: staff are often players; leave a clear notice with contact + clip.
Studios/rehearsal rooms: pin posters where musicians walk past.
Open mics/jam nights: network, watch, and invite.
Online: local FB groups/Discords; your socials; optional $20 geo-targeted ad.
What to include every time
Role (must-haves / nice-to-haves) + gear/transport.
One-liner about your sound + influences.
Live clip (30–90s) and EPK link.
Commitment & pay expectations.
Contact (name, email, phone).
Ask to Access: choose two channels this week (e.g., open mic + music store) and make one clear ask.
If you’d like a Bandmate Sourcing Kit (checklist, poster, social scripts, outreach tracker), just say the word and I’ll send it over.
