Module 2: Vibe to Venue
Match who you are to where you play: sharpen your brand, organise your outreach, and pitch with purpose so bookers see “perfect fit” and hit yes.
Getting gigs is simple to say and harder to do. It’s more than just having enough songs. It’s about being the act that fits the room - and making that obvious to the people who book it.
Start here:
Have the material: time your set; know the venue’s expectations and meet them.
Do the legwork: build a small, real network: musicians, managers, bookers, promoters.
Stay organised: keep contacts and follow-ups in one place; check in regularly.
Say yes to reps: covers or low-pay “exposure” shows can sharpen your live game - sprinkle your originals to grow fans1.
That’s the mechanics. The edge is brand, how people perceive you before they hear the first note. Name, photos, one-line pitch, EPK, socials, and how you show up online tell bookers if you match their vibe, audience, and lineup. Their lens is practical: fit and revenue (or cause/awareness). Clear brand = faster “yes.”
This module shows you how to shape perception on purpose, so it makes instant sense to venues, agents, and fans that you belong on that bill, not just once, but again and again.

Remember - exposure isn’t a currency. Treat these as strategic steps, not your business model. Only say yes when you control the upside and cap the downside.
